Q&As

Will Bloxburg ever be free?

Is it possible that Roblox's Welcome to Bloxburg will become free at any point soon?

Welcome to Bloxburg is one of the most popular paid games on Roblox. It is a role playing game that has you building and designing your house, owning vehicles, hanging out, and working within the city. RP games are jumping up in popularity, and with the success of the free game Brookhaven, a lot of players are wondering if Bloxburg will be free!

This post is apart of our Roblox Questions & Answers series. We find frequently asked questions (FAQs), and attempt to find an answer to them if one exists. Just because the question has been asked, doesn’t mean there is an answer to it!

When will Bloxburg be free?

As of right now, there is no indication that Bloxburg will become free. These rumors tend to popup now and again, but nothing official has been mentioned by the developers.

While Brookhaven is exploding in popularity, Bloxburg isn’t exactly doing poorly. Bloxburg is also very cheap, it’s only 25 Robux to play it, so most players can afford the cost if they want to try the game out. However, you can also argue that at this point there’s no real reason for Welcome to Bloxburg to continue charging that fee. Now that they have some pretty stiff competition in Brookhaven, they should probably just remove the fee so that they can compete directly with the game! Bloxburg also has additional monetization options inside the game, so it’s not fully reliant on the Robux required to play.

Based on my limited playtime of the games, it appears that Welcome to Bloxburg is the more detailed of the two games. However, that doesn’t mean Brookhaven won’t be able to catch up in the future. It looks like we will have to wait and see what moves the Bloxburg developers decide to make.
